Next Stage is delighted to announce a new-style format in the Theatre Upstairs: Taster Theatre. Three times a year audiences will be invited to join us in the intimacy of our upstairs performing space to sample a “Taster” of a particular playwright’s life and works and to accompany this with one of our Taster Menus from our delicious Green Room range of dishes.
In our first Taster Theatre, Next Stage has taken for its inspiration the life and works of Alan Bennett. This influential and iconic British author and playwright blends playfulness, passion and pathos in witty and insightful monologues, diaries, plays and stories. In A Bite With Bennett, actors from Next Stage will bring their inimitable talent and flair to an unforgettable evening of readings and performance, enabling Bennett fans to rediscover the works of this national treasure and introducing new audiences to some of his most memorable works.
To accompany a feast of entertainment will be a delicious vegetarian Taster Menu provided by our acclaimed Green Room caterer Shirley Smith. Book early to avoid disappointment.
