On Sunday 9th March Next Stage’s Artistic Director Ann Garner and Company Director Andrew Ellison, were delighted to have the chance of catching up with one of Next Stage's Patrons: Harriet Walter.
Appearing at the Bath Festival of Literature, Harriet was narrating in the courtroom drama Hanged for Love: The Trial of Edith Thompson and Freddie Bywaters. This compelling piece was staged in the atmospheric setting of the Council Chamber in Bath’s Guildhall. The hour-long enactment delighted a packed courtroom and after the event, Ann and Andrew caught up with Harriet at a book signing. In the course of their conversation, Ann was able to congratulate Harriet on her marriage, her new book Facing It and her recent film and television work. Harriet was interested to hear of Next Stage’s 20th birthday anniversary productions and said how sad she was that she would be in America for the Company’s big May production of House and Garden. She re-iterated how happy she was to continue her patronage of Next Stage and wished everyone involved with the Company every success.
